Let’s Get Social!

Zulunotes had a bit of an upgrade over the weekend. We’ve now added some cool new user profiles and other social networking features.

Profile.

To start, we’ve replaced the old user page (which was just a plain template) with a new profile page. Here’s what mine looks like now:

New Profile Page

To access them go over to the main site and login (or register if you haven’t already!) and click on your username in the top right:

my user page

From here you can Add Friends, upload a Picture or avatar, add your personal information (such as the subjects your studying), leave Comments on other users walls, send them Private Messages or even gifts (coming soon!).

Points

You now also earn Zulunotes points for any notes you add to the site. These points will display proudly on your profile, and you’ll even get a rank depending on the amount of points you have.

More to come

So there you have it! That’s a whole host of new features to help you get the most out of Zulunotes. Was it a great idea for us to put out a big new feature right before the mocks started? Probably not! But are we glad now that we did? … You betcha!

What do you think of it? Any other features that you think we should add? And feel free to add me as a friend!

A Nice Break

Looking at the Zulunotes page view statistics it seems like everyone took a nice break from study over Christmas. Always good to see a bit of a break, don’t want to overdo it and burn out before the mocks!

Site visits have been growing steadily during the week so it looks like everyone’s getting back into the swing of it again.

My takeaway: If you took a bit of a break from study over Christmas don’t feel too bad… most other people did too!

Welcome!

Welcome to the new Zulunotes blog!

We’re getting ready to kick start our second full academic year. We have lots planned, starting with this new blog, a new twitter account and of course lots more notes and videos. Last year was a brilliant first full year with thousands of visitors and over 500 pages of notes added. Here’s to this year being even better.

To those of you who’ve been here before, welcome back, hope you enjoyed your summer! To all the new visitors… welcome!… Please feel free to leave a comment here to ask any questions you have about the site. You can sign up, add notes, edit notes and read any amount of notes you want all for free!

Well that’s about all for the first post. Good luck to everyone starting 6th year, hopefully Zulunotes can  be of as much use to you as possible over the coming year, and remember, the more notes you add, the more free notes we all will have!

Peter
